The ancient mariner goes to sea to explore new lands on a big sailing ship. But when they go far away the get frozen in an iceberg. Then an albatross comes every day as they feed it and play with it. After a while the iceberg starts to melt and they come free. Then the albatross comes and the ancient mariner with his crossbow shoots the albatross. His crewmates were mad at this and found it as bad luck, so they made him wear it. So he hung the albatross around his neck and he carried on his journey to find food drink and new land For the wonderful world before them.

The first stages of this are bang on. Though you did miss the part where the mariner compelled the Wedding Guest to listen to him instead of go to the Wedding. He doesn’t have the albatross around his neck because they’re celebrating though – they’re dying of thirst and blaming the mariner for it.
